cape
On-Yomi: キ — Kun-Yomi: さき、さい、みさき
Elements:
cape, soil, dirt, ground, strange, large, St. Bernard, street, nail, spike, mouth
Heisig story:
The cape pictured here is a jut of land like Cape Cod. The soil on the left tells us we have to do with land, and the strange on the right tells us it is a cape where unusual things go on. Put a haunted house on it, an eerie sky overhead, and a howling wind rustling through the trees, and you have yourself a picture of Cape Strange (or, if you prefer, Cape Odd).
Koohii stories:
1) [frychiko] 3-7-2008(160): This refers to LAND, not the STRANGE gear superheroes wear.
2) [usis35] 27-5-2007(77): Cape Cod "odd" is a land where odd=strange things happen.
