Heisig story:

Part of the body . . . instead. This character has more or less the same meaning as that for leg learned back in frame 1372. It can also indicate the part of the legs from the shins down, which explains the choice of the key word.

Koohii stories:

1) [decamer0n] 5-6-2007(266): Shins are the part of the body that Japanese traditionally sit on instead of their asses.

2) [mcfate] 12-10-2007(204): Shins are the part of the body that one uses instead of one's eyes, for finding furniture in the dark. (Ouch!).

3) [gorgon] 22-2-2006(27): This is one of the key aspects of soccer. At the beginning of every game you start by trying to kick the opponent's shins; their flesh, instead of the ball (lets them know you mean business).
